Short answer: Yes. Square Enix is ending service for FINAL FANTASY VII EVER CRISIS tonight: Oct. 6, 2026, at 11:00 PM PDT (same clock reading as 11:00 PM MST in America/Phoenix while Pacific Daylight Time is in effect). After that cutover, the live service is over.
There is no dedicated deadgam.es /games/ page or Graveyard entry for Ever Crisis yet. This article and the 2026 shutdowns hub now list the confirmed end of service.
What Square Enix actually said
The Global End of Service Notice (posted July 8, 2026) is blunt:
“We regret to inform you that we will be ending service for FINAL FANTASY VII EVER CRISIS on Oct. 6, 2026, at 11:00 PM PDT.”
Japan’s twin notice puts the same moment at 2026年10月7日(水)15:00. The Producer’s Letter confirms both Japanese and Global versions die together.
Platforms covered: App Store and Google Play (live since Sep. 7, 2023) and Steam (live since Dec. 6, 2023). Developer billing on Steam: Square Enix and Applibot; publisher Square Enix.

Delisting first, then the lights
Shutdown and store removal were not the same day.
- Jul. 7, 2026, 7:00 PM PDT — Red Crystal sales ended. Crystals already owned stayed usable until EOS.
- Jul. 7, 2026, 7:00 PM PDT — Official EN social: new Steam downloads discontinued; installs already on disk could keep playing. Steam store changes could lag up to 24 hours.
- Oct. 6, 2026, 11:00 PM PDT — End of service (server shutdown). In-game events were scheduled through that cutover.
Steam’s own store page now states the title is “no longer available on the Steam store” and reprints the same EOS timestamp. Delisting (or “new downloads off”) was the summer warning shot. Tonight is the funeral.
Purchases, progress, offline, refunds
Progress and accounts: Official wording:
“To protect users' personal information, account information will be deleted once all procedures associated with the end of the service have been completed.”
Server-side progress does not get a souvenir vault. When the procedures finish, the accounts go with them.
Offline play: None announced. Ever Crisis is a live online RPG (solo and co-op). No offline client, archive build, or single-player rescue edition appears in the EOS notice or Producer’s Letter. When the servers stop, the game stops.
Refunds: Paid unused Red Crystals are refundable only for residents of Taiwan, with details “at a later date.” Everyone else: no general refund path in the Global notice. Square Enix also warned Taiwan refund claimants not to delete the app or device-hop until that process finishes.
Producer Shoichi Ichikawa framed the reason as economics dressed as quality control: maintaining FINAL FANTASY VII–level visuals and gear while balancing production cost and demand had become “challenging.” Three years of Compilation retellings, young Sephiroth, and gacha weapons later, Midgar’s mobile server bill came due.

Bottom line
Is FF7 Ever Crisis shutting down? Yes — Oct. 6, 2026, 11:00 PM PDT. Platforms: iOS, Android, Steam. Steam new downloads already stopped in July. No offline mode. Progress dies with the accounts. Refunds are Taiwan-only. Primary receipts: End of Service Notice, Producer’s Letter, JP notice, Steam app 2484110.
Another Possibility for a Remake just ran out of possibilities.
