The New Denpa Men and Code Geass: Lost Stories both shut down Dec. 7, 2026

Short answer: Yes, both of them, on the same day. Two free-to-play games announced their end of service within 48 hours of each other this week, and they picked the same date: Monday, Dec. 7, 2026, Japan time. Neither studio has said it coordinated. The calendar did it anyway.

The New Denpa Men

Genius Sonority posted the end-of-service notice on Oct. 5. The New Denpa Men ends service on Dec. 7 at 11:00 JST, which is 6 p.m. Pacific and 7 p.m. Phoenix on Sunday, Dec. 6. The studio says it has "concluded that it will be difficult to continue providing a service that meets your expectations."

What changes, and when:

  • Paid items stopped selling Oct. 5. That covers Jewels, Jewel Packs, Value Packs, Stamina Expansion Packs, and Create Packs.
  • Any event still running on Dec. 7 ends partway through.
  • After shutdown, Jewels and items are gone. The studio recommends spending paid Jewels before then.

Can I get a refund? Unused paid Jewels will be refunded under Japan's Payment Services Act, with the request process announced after the game closes. You will need your Support ID, which stays viewable from the app's title screen until March 31, 2027. Write it down now, and don't delete the app or move it to a new device until the refund is done.

Will there be an offline version? The notice doesn't mention one.

The game launched on Switch in 2024 and got a Switch 2 version earlier this year, according to Nintendo Life. That makes the Switch 2 release about eight months old at closing time, which is roughly the shelf life of a carton of eggs left in a very cold fridge.

Code Geass: Lost Stories

DMM GAMES and f4samurai followed on Oct. 7 with a Japanese-language notice. Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion Lost Stories ends service on Dec. 7 at 15:00 JST, which is 10 p.m. Pacific and 11 p.m. Phoenix on Sunday, Dec. 6. It has run since May 2022 on iOS, Android, and PC through DMM GAMES PLAYER, for a total of four years and seven months.

  • Sales stopped Oct. 7 at 17:00 JST for Sakuradite (the premium currency), the Lost Story Pass, and the Starter Pack. Active subscriptions cancel themselves at the next renewal.
  • Refund window: unused paid Sakuradite can be claimed from Dec. 7, 17:00 JST, through Feb. 7, 2027, 15:00 JST. Other paid items get no refund. Save your player ID and keep the app installed.
  • Something survives. GAME Watch reports an offline app is in preparation with story scenarios and the encyclopedia. No release date or English version has been mentioned.

Wait, didn't this already shut down? In English, yes. The global version closed in August 2024. This is the Japanese service, which outlived its overseas sibling by more than two years. English-language corroboration of the new notice: Anime News Network.

Bottom line

If you play either game, spend your premium currency on whatever it can still buy, note your ID, and keep the app installed until refunds are sorted. Code Geass players get a story archive afterward. Denpa Men players, so far, get a refund and a memory.

Both games go on our 2026 shutdowns list, which gets longer each week, usually on schedule.
